Where is home?

I am completely pooped.  We have been sorting and moving things into the motorhome all day.  I think that most of what we need is in, and it is getting pretty full in the motorhome.  Bernie is very confused.  He knows something is up, but he doesn't know what.  It is actually happening.

The impulse to travel is one of the hopeful symptoms of life. (Agnes Repplier)

We sold many unneeded things at our garage sale.  Enough to go to Camping World an buy a satellite dish and new curtains for the front window of the motorhome.  (The old one had been washed and shrunk so that you had privacy only part way down the windshield.)  I drove to Burlington to practice driving and felt so confident that I drove the motorhome by myself to a meeting tonight.  I am truly getting excited.  I just want to pack and pack and move into the motorhome.

Leaving work

While I am not finished working until the end of April, and I have enjoyed the position, I decided today that there are aspects of my job that I will not miss!!!!  I met with an elderly woman today that had been offered a legal settlement that was grossly unfair, but she doesn't have the resources to pursue something more just.  If she had more money, she would get more money.  It brought tears to my eyes that life is so hard for low-income people.

The Decision is Made

We have been working since January to research full-time RVing, planning  a budget and debating whether we have enough money, what is enough money, where would we go, what animals to take, etc. etc. etc.  We initially were planning to move into the RV in June, but got worried about whether our house would rent so we advertsed on Craig's list.  And rented it right away.  So moving day is April 15th.  But we need to be available to babysit grandsons for the rest of the school year - where to go?  We have agreed to be campground hosts at Bowman Bay campground in Deception Pass State Park through May.  We have a mail forwarding service arranged so you can mail us at 316 SE Pioneer Way, PMB 438, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.  We will access the internet when we can and let you know what is happening.

How fast are we going - we don't know.
Where will we go - Alaska first, then accross Canada, down the east side of the US and into the                   Southern states for the winter.

How do others reach us?  Cell phone numbers 425-387-7555(Chris) or 425-387-7888(Mike).  Email is christinecrowell@whidbey.com and mcro1948@whidbey.com.

Why are we doing this - why not!

Are we sane - definately not!

Are we relaxing - absolutely no - we are packing and getting ready for a yard sale next weekend.

Have we missed any details - we don't know!
